27 July 2008 -The installation of a Rondine system of 4 kWp has been succesfully completed in San Giovanni di Ostellato (Ferrara - Italy), for Sipro Spa
CPower Srl develops, produces, commercializes and installs photovoltaics concentrating systems, PV systems of new generation of high technological profile, which owns the intellectual properties.
The mass production is not yet started. The company has sold small CPV systems (4 - 5 kW of Rondine Modules each) to very selected groups.
Concentrating
PV modules with conc. factor of 25x (gen1) and 20x (gen2). The light is
concentrated on special solar cells of monocristalline silicon by reflective
“funnels for light” named Rondine
concentrators.
This panel
structure reduces of 25-20 times the amount of silicon required for high efficiency standard modules, with the same power
produced.
Some dichroic photovoltaic concentrators are under development; these systems are concentrators able to convert the solar light in electrical energy with higher efficiency compared to current panels, employing a spatial splitting of the spectrum of the sunlight. CPower has been accreditated for the development of dichroic concentrators in the EU seventh framework, in the project APOLLON (www.apollon-eu.org).
24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition
CPower will present the in-field results of the Rondine Gen1 modules and will introduce the new Rondine module (Gen2) during the 24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC), on the 22th of September, in Hamburg (Germany). (Presentation)
